The Telegraph outlines the new Free Enterprise Group’s manifesto of fifteen measures to spur economic growth and cut public spending, amid which are some ideas to introduce the equivalent of U.S.’s “Green card” for immigrants who want to work in the U.K., make the unemployed on Jobseeker’s allowance work for 30 hours weekly in their local community, strengthen anti-strike laws for transport and emergency service workers, amongst others. The manifesto will be introduced at a party conference held by the Free Enterprise Group, joined by the Institute of Economic Affairs, in Brimingham. Chairman of the Group Kwasi Kwarteng stresses how “Fostering free enterprise through reforming public spending, cutting taxes and getting the welfare budget under control needs to be at the heart of our political agenda.”
