Member of the Free Enterprise Group and MP for Kingswood, Chris Skidmore, writes about his new paper which intends to restructure the welfare system, focusing on the younger and elderly population in a way that maintains the spirit of its creator, William Beveridge, but works for today’s larger population and costs the Government far less. The Free Enterprise Group report suggests to return to Beveridge’s original principles of contribution, personal responsibility, and hard work instead of pure reward.
